Features

Many of the features in Atomic Progress are inspired by the concepts found in the Atomic Habits book and they help you achieve your goals faster and consistent.

Why should I use a Habit Tracker?

A Habit Tracker is a simple way to record your habits and visualize your progress. Without an assessment of how you are doing it becomes harder to improve and to correct areas that need more care.

As a summary, habit tracking can provide:

  • the cue for the habits you need to perform, with proper location and time context;
  • a visual and elegant way to check your progress;
  • a sense of accomplishment, even for small wins, as you track your actions and celebrate;

All of these are directly associated with parts of the Habit Loop and the Laws of Behavior Change outlined in the Atomic Habits book.

Habit Categories

It is a simple way to organize related habits. With Atomic Progress you can create as many category as you need so you can organize your habits the best way possible that makes sense for you.

Here are some examples of common categories, but also some interesting ideas:

  • By area or topic such as: Finance, Health, Career, Business, Music, and so on;
  • By complexity such as: Beginner, Intermediate, Advanced, and so on;
  • By habit type, to separate the ones you want to do and the ones you want to avoid: Do and Avoid;
  • By combining one or more of the above;

While having a habit under a category makes sense for the most of the times, Atomic Progress does not require a habit to be under a category, so you can still have habits with no category if you want.

Habit Management

The process of adding a new habit is very simple.
It uses the Implementation Intention as a guideline plus a few more options:

  • an optional habit category;
  • how often the habit is expected to be done;
  • if the habit is current;
  • if the habit follows the Two-Minute Rule;

Habit Stacking

Habit stacking is a great way to introduce a new habit, pairing with a current one.

Atomic Progress allows you to build habit stacks in a flexible way. In case the habits have different weekly frequencies, the calendar will show them together only in the days they match, otherwise it will show as regular habits.

Habit Calendar

Once you have added some habits, you will be able to see them in calendar view to help you plan your day, and track them.

There are three modes in your Habit Calendar:

  • Today list the habits for the current day;
  • Any Day list the habits for any specific day, past or future;
  • Week list the habits for the current week, split by day, from Sunday to Saturday;

While notes are not a core component of Atomic Habits book, it is definitely a day-to-day necessity.

To-do Lists

To-do lists are a simple and effective productivity tool that help organize one-off tasks and increase efficiency.

You can, optionally, associate any to-do item with a habit.
